CHICAGO, IL (December 3, 2008) – Academic Approach, a test preparation and academic tutoring company headquartered in Chicago, is providing services to METROsquash to help their promising Chicago Public School students get into a competitive high school. The partnership allows the hardest working and most enthusiastic students who comprise the METROsquash program to have the chance to excel on standardized tests, which will afford them the opportunity to attend the high school of their choice.
"Through this partnership, we will be able to not only improve a student’s test scores but also to build lasting confidence, motivation, and abilities that will extend beyond their high school careers,” says Matthew Pietrafetta, Founder and CEO of Academic Approach. “Our middle school test prep bridges the gap between school curriculum and the academic fundamentals found in standardized tests.”
Through the partnership, Academic Approach will provide students with highly effective online test prep courses that will help them prepare for standardized tests and achieve their personal academic goals. Additionally, Academic Approach’s PhD-level tutors will provide small group instruction for English and math in a classroom setting.
“METROsquash has devoted much of its classroom focus to high school preparation,” said David Kay, Executive Director of METROsquash. “This ongoing partnership furthers our mission to help students to realize their full academic, athletic and personal potential.”
The involvement with METROsquash is part of Academic Approach’s community outreach program to reach students of a more diverse population with its high quality methods and services. Academic Approach’s philosophy is “Teaching Beyond the Test.” They don't teach games or gimmicks, but the academic content found within the test itself. To learn more, visit www.academicapproach.com.
