Sarah Weidinger joined Academic Approach in 2012 and is currently the Executive Director of School Programs. Prior to this role, Sarah co-directed the School Programs team in its efforts to serve students and teachers in Chicago and beyond. Whether she is leading professional development with teachers or training the next cohort of Academic Approach instructors, she is driven by a mission of ensuring that all students receive the best possible education.
Sarah earned her B.S. in Psychology at Centre College and her Masters in the Art of Teaching at Dominican University. She began her career with Teach For America in Chicago and taught 3rd grade for four years. During this time, she learned to use assessments as instructional tools and, through careful analysis and planning, consistently moved her students from below grade level to above. This philosophy brought her to Academic Approach, where she continues to support student achievement.
What achievement or success story at Academic Approach are you most proud of?
“What makes me proud to work with Academic Approach is its commitment to educational equality. I love that we are able to work with students and teachers in all schools, from the lowest performing to the highest performing, to assist all students in reaching their goals. To me, this demonstrates the power of a skills-based curriculum in the hands of passionate educators to achieve extraordinary results.” -Sarah Weidinger
