Updated Information on NWEA-MAP and PARCC in Chicago Public Schools
Chicago Public Schools announced today that only the NWEA-MAP test will be included in the school accountability metrics (SQRP) for K-8 schools beginning next school year (the PARCC test will no longer be used, as the state of Illinois has only committed to providing the PARCC test for one year). The SQRP score is used to determine the rating of a school.
In addition, CPS affirmed that the NWEA-MAP will continue to be used for selective enrollment admissions (as the 7th grade test, 1/3 of the total student score) next school year. It will also continue to be used for promotion decisions in grades 3, 6, and 8.
