Preventing student learning loss is at the front of our minds, so we are partnering with schools to deliver synchronous e-learning courses during the school year and over the summer. We’re integrating e-learning best practices with our rigorous, college preparatory curriculum to deliver high-quality instruction for students while they’re at home.
With students out of the classroom, we are especially focused on supporting students in maintaining the right level of math rigor. In addition to our 24-hour ACT and SAT e-learning courses, we are offering three 8-hour math enrichment e-courses: Mathematical Foundations, Algebra II for College-Level Rigor, and Math for the Real World.
We are also delivering Undefeated Minds, an 8-hour e-course on building student resilience during challenging times developed in partnership with the University of Chicago’s Urban Education Institute.
Our 8-hour Foundations course enables mastery of essential math basics many students may have missed, including ratios & proportional thinking, unit conversions, percents, and linear equations. The curriculum is scaled for an 8th – 10th grade level.
In this 8-hour course, students explore key Algebra II concepts, such as nonlinear equations and functions, at the level of rigor seen in college-entry math courses. This course transfers existing instruction for 10th and 11th graders to the level of rigor seen on college entrance exams.
Over the course of 8 hours, this e-course covers vital math skills students need to thrive in college and beyond. Content includes data analysis and statistics, targeted for the 11th and 12th grade skill level.
Undefeated Minds works to equip students with a resilience toolkit to navigate challenging times. Over the course of eight hours, students learn seven tools to draw upon when facing obstacles.
Resilience is the ability to maintain passion and persistence toward long-term goals, and just survive, but thrive in the face of adversity. This curriculum was developed in partnership with the University of Chicago’s Urban Education Institute.
Our 24-hour ACT preparation course focuses on the core principles most frequently assessed across English, Reading, Math, and Science on the ACT.
Our 24-hour SAT preparation course covers topics including reading annotation, math problem solving, grammar, and rhetorical skills, all with a rigorous emphasis on SAT standards and practices.
