Reading Instructional Strategies: Investigate practical teaching strategies that develop students into stronger readers every day and translate reading skills to performing well on the SAT
Math Instructional Strategies: Analyze and discuss practical teaching strategies that help students master essential math skills and apply them to the SAT
Rigor in the Classroom: Assess current understanding of rigor in the classroom and develop a set of best practices for promoting academic excellence
Train the Teacher: Academic Approach provides faculty training and curriculum for teachers to instruct their own test prep courses. Teachers can rely on their existing relationships and knowledge of student baseline skills to customize their courses. Academic Approach provides training and support around our skill-based lessons. These lessons include scaffolded questions and test-level application items giving teachers the resources they need to prepare students to achieve beyond the test.
Curriculum Development: Collaboration with administrators, instructional coaches, and teachers to ensure curriculum coherency and alignment of expected outcomes and competencies of high school graduation.
SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and Math Toolkits: The Academic Approach SAT Toolkits are a set of tools and instructional materials to help schools infuse SAT-level rigor into the curriculum and incorporate targeted skills and practices into instruction.
