Since 2012, Academic Approach has had the privilege of partnering with Brooks College Preparatory Academy to support, engage, motivate and teach its students as they prepare for the ACT. Each year, Academic Approach provides a classroom course for all junior students in preparation for the ACT.
After each month of instruction, students take a full-length practice ACT exam. The day following each exam, Academic Approach instructors provide Brooks’ teachers with a thorough breakdown of the entire classes’ results, including each individual student’s areas of strength and growth. Doing so enables Brooks’ teachers to make instructional decisions in real time, as timely feedback has the greatest positive impact.
Each year, students at Brooks have achieved historic highs on all four sections of the ACT. In fact, the Brooks Class of 2015 saw the biggest ACT score growth in Chicago Public Schools with a 23.5 composite score.

Academic Approach has worked closely with Pritzker College Prep on developing their curriculum, instructing students, and providing professional development and assessments since 2009. During this time, Pritzker’s average April ACT scores have grown from 20 to 21.5.
Academic Approach’s team has worked closely with Pritzker staff and leadership to analyze data and develop instructional responses. In addition, Academic Approach instructors work with Pritzker students in their classes during the school day to provide high-quality ACT instruction as well as in small groups to target individual needs.
