Katie Hammen currently serves as the Director of Instructional Management. In this role, Katie serves as a liaison between the client base and tutors as well as supporting continuing education and creating professional developments for tutors particularly in working with diverse learners.
Katie joined Academic Approach in 2016 and prior to her current role, worked with Academic Approach as a tutor, lead school-programs instructor, and in curriculum development. She has a BA in English and Creative Writing from the University of Iowa and a Masters in Education from Arizona State University. Before joining Academic Approach, Katie taught Special Education and ELL. In her free time, she enjoys writing and performing at theaters around the city including The Second City and IO.
